Bearetta Lockley was born October 31, 1946 to the union of Robert Lockley Sr. and Idella Whaley Lockley. She was the first of 10 children born to this union. As a child, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior. She attended the local and public schools of Citrus County migrating to the St. Augustine School for the Blind graduating with honors and furthering her education at the Miami-Dade Community College. Upon completion of college, she began a full and rewarding career with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Upon retiring, Bearetta returned to her hometown of Crystal River, FL; enjoying her final years with close family and friends. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting and spending quality time with her family.
Bearetta was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lockley Sr. and Idella Whaley Lockley; her grandparents, Richard Whaley Sr. and Sarah Ann Watkins Whaley; her oldest brother, Robert (Lee) Lockley Jr., nephew like a brother, Robert Lee (Toot) Lockley III, uncles, Seargent Major Herbert Whaley Sr, Wardell Whaley, Willard Whaley, Richard Whaley Jr.; aunts, Katherine Mobley, Gussie Saffore, Charlene Whaley, Alberta Lockley, Cora Audrey, Lucille Smith, Drucilla Hogan and Mary Lockley.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Matthew Lorenzo Lockley Sr of Miami Fl.; grandchildren, Matthew Lorenzo Lockley Jr, Emilia Lorenah Lockley both of Port Richey Fl ,and Asyah Shanice Lockley of Miami Fl.;siblings, Ray Donald Lockley (Corene), Lyndell Lockley, Both of Crystal River Fl Brenda Lockley, Laverne Lockley- Nicoleau (Timothy) both of Beverly Hills Fl ,Maurice Lockley (Gerald) of Inverness Fl Cassandra Lockley-Hall (Johnny) of Crystal River Fl, Norman Lockley ,of Homosassa Fl Donna Shay Lockley-Williams of Brooksville Fl ; aunts, Olabee Harris, Erma Whaley both of Crystal River, FL and Barbara Whaley of Lamont, FL; uncles, Harold Whaley Sr. (Joan) of Ocala, FL, Marvin Whaley of Miami, FL and Phillester Whaley of Inverness, FL; 1 great aunt, Altamese Watkins of Lakeland, FL; sister in law, Laurestine Lockley of Crystal River, FL and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
