Dwight Preston Lamb
was born on September 30, 1945 to Harold Vesper Lamb and Alva Marie Lamb who
preceded him in death. He attended Catholic School in Chicago, Illinois. While
serving our country he completed his education receiving his High School GED
and attended NCO Leadership School.
Dwight joined the
United States Marine Corps February 10, 1964 and served two tours of active
duty in Viet Nam before being honorably discharged August 1, 1967. He was
awarded the following decorations Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense
Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct
Medal and Marksman Badge, Rifle.
Dwight moved from
Chicago to Hernando Florida and was employed as an over the road truck driver
for many years.
Dwight leaves to cherish in memories; 1 daughter, Alva Lamb, Inverness, FL,; 4 Sons, Frederick Lamb, Hampton, Virginia; Micah Lamb, Inverness, FL; Donnye Franklin, Inverness, FL; McKinley Franklin, Sr. (Holly), Beverly Hills, FL; 16 grandchildren, Alexandria Lamb, Maijah Franklin, Anaiiah Lamb, Allysandra Franklin, McKinley Franklin, Jr, JaidenSalena,Lillian Franklin, Cryston Lofton, Jaimzie Emberly, Tyrell Franklin, Bradley Franklin, Xzayveon Pierson, Lailynn Lamb, Josiah Brown, Raelynn Franklin, Salem Derouin; great grandson, Aiden Morgan; Aunt, Freddie Lee Simmons, God Daughters, Tracey & Toby Taylor, Chicago, Ill., host of cousins and other sorrowing friends.
Celebration of Life- The celebration of life will be held at the Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church on Saturday August 27th at 3 PM
Final Resting place- The final Interment will be held at Pine hill Cemetery following the celebration of life to include military honors.
