A loving genuine, classy, kind and gentle spirit are just a
few words to describe our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend. Born March 5, 1940, in Red Level, Florida.
Edna attended grade school 1 through 8 at George Washington
Carver – Crystal River, Florida; 9 through 12 at Booker T Washington - Inverness, Florida. Graduated from High
School at the tender age of 16, she continued her education at Howard Academy
Beauty School – Ocala, Florida and became a cosmetologist from 1956 to 1983.
She married the love of her life, George Foster, Sr., in 1970
and from this union three blessed children were born. Her Christian experiences include receiving
Christ at the age of 9 and rededicated her life at the age of 31.
Edna was affiliated with Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church,
Crystal River, Florida from 1949 to 1971 as an usher, Christian Group, choir
and mission department. In 2004, she
returned to Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Crystal River and worked as an
usher and on the mission board. She also
was active with Tabernacle Baptist Church which became Southside Tabernacle Baptist Church -St Petersburg, Florida serving on the choir
and the mission group, Pastor’s Secretary, culinary Arts Group, Nursery
and Women Leadership Group. She served faithfully with the food pantry, Agape ministry and the women’s mission at First Baptist Church,
Crystal River, Florida until her health failed..
She was known and loved by many and made an indelible impression
upon the hearts of all who knew her. She
had a big heart as pure as gold.
Edna was preceded in death by her first born daughter, Baby
Girl Foster and her Parents, Jack and
Mary Wims.
She leaves
to cherish her sweet memories, Precious Husband, George Foster, Sr., Crystal
River, Florida; Two Children, Velma L Foster and George Foster, Jr.; Both of St
Petersburg, Florida; Brother, James (Cassandra) Wims, Citrus Springs, Florida;
Four Nephews – Cory Wims, Marcus Wims, Christopher Wims and Quincy Wims. Many Cousins from Sanford, Florida and Ashburn,
Georgia and many sorrowing friends.
Flowers- May be received on Friday December 2, from 9am to 3pm at The J.T. Campbell Funeral Home, 210 West Jefferson street Brooksville Fl.
Visitation- Friday December 2, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm
