The life of Emma Lee Washington came to an end on February 29, 2024 in Passaic, NJ. Emma was born to the late Mallie and Cora Washington in Brooksville, FL on September 9, 1949.
Emma attended Bethlehem Progressive Baptist Church during her formative years. She graduated from the Hernando County public school system. Afterwards, she relocated to Yonkers, NY where she spent her adult life. Upon moving to Yonkers, Emma worked for the United States Postal Service for fifty years until her retirement in 2022. Emma loved her family very much. She was the rock upon whom they could depend upon.
Emma was married to the late Charles Thomas. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Celestine Hughes, Thelma Fuzz, Earnestine Pitts, Lenora Washington and Karen Washington and two brothers, Marion Washington and James Washington.
She leaves one son, Terrance Washington, Sr. (Shamika Price) to cherish her memory; one grandson, Terrance Washington, Jr.; one sister, Gwendolyn Louise Hodges of Dansbury, CT and one brother, Willie (Elizabeth) Washington of Spring Hill, FL; 18 nieces and nephews, a host of great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Mrs Emma Washington is now under the care of J.T.Campbell Funeral Home and Cremation Services Macedonia Chapel
Flowers and Condolences- May Be received on Friday March 15, 2024 from 9am to 3pm
Celebration of Life- will be held on Saturday March 16 at 12 noon

Final Resting Place- Spring Hill African American Cemetery
