Frank Joseph Serrano passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Frank was born on October 9, 1954 to Francisco and Indaleccia Serrano at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Frank moved with his military family to various locations during his childhood and returned to Camp Lejeune where he graduated high school. In Kansas, Frank met and married Kim Williams and they had four children, Francesca, Francisco, Frank Jr. and Tanner. The couple later divorced.
In 2000, the family settled in Citrus Springs, Florida to be near his parents. Frank was employed as a maintenance technician for many years before retiring. In his free time, he was an avid reader and was active in sports, especially golf. He spent many years involved in youth sports as an umpire and referee and is fondly remembered in Hays, Kansas for his dedication to youth and his mouth-watering burrito recipe. Frank also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, dominoes and spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephew. He was a devoted North Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys fan and looked forward to watching his teams play each season.
Frank is survived by his daughter Francesca, sons Frank Jr. and Tanner; sister Linda (Bob Klein), brother Eli, niece and caregiver Melissa Jenkins, and great-niece Jayda Hawkins Joa. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Francisco, sister Hilda and an infant brother.
Frank will be remembered for his infectious smile that would “light up a room”
