Geraldine Bear was born on March 6 1926 in Spartanburg SC. The Daughter of the reverend C.Lee Hayes and Lucy Belle Hayes.
Geraldine grew up in the county farm lands of Paclot SC before relocating to Baltimore Maryland wear she met and married Samuel Bear and had 3 children, Diana (Whitten), Russell Bear (Deceased) and Joseph Bear. In 1971 Gerry (as her friends called her) and her husband Sam moved to Spring Hill Florida with their then young son Joseph. With her daughter and grandchildren soon to follow. Gerry worked as a CNA for some 20yrs and served as a Deacon at Grace Presbyterian Church in Spring Hill.
She was an writer and author of a number of books of poetry and children's short stories. She loved Painting, music and the arts. She is survived by her daughter Diana Whitten, her son Joseph Bear, her grandsons Michael and Brian Bear, and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gerry was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
