James was born in 1929 on the 14th of November to late Isaac and Erma Faison. He was raised in Crystal River, FL and was educated at George Washington Carver School.
In 1948, James went on to attend the Howard Academy in Ocala, FL to finish High School. From there he temporarily went to school in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, James was called into the Army to fight in the Korean War. He met his late wife, Gladys, during his time spent in Asbury Park, New Jersey. While living in New Jersey he became a chef on the boardwalk. Later in life he returned back to his hometown, Crystal River, FL stayed for several years then moved to the Tampa Bay area for about 10 years, then returned back to Crystal River.
He is preceded in death by both birth parents, Isaac and Erma Faison, and sister Ruth Jenkins.
Left behind to cherish his memories, three sisters, Earnestine Schlueter of Crystal River, FL; Martha Joyner (Ralph) of Tampa, FL; Mary Coleman of Tallahassee, FL. Six children Eldest son James E. Faison jr,( Sheila) 4 Daughters, Vetertee Grey (JOJI), Rita Williams (Larry) ,Theresa Faison, and Shaunda Faison all of New Jersey, Youngest son Benjamin Murphy, of Crystal River Fl. (11)Grandchildren, (22) Great Grandchildren (8) Great- great Grandchildren, Two favorite nephews, Lewis Scriven and late Lorenzo Scriven, a host of nieces and nephews, along with many other sorrowing relatives, long-life friends and other lives touched by James throughout his life.
Flowers - May be received at The J.T. Campbell Funeral Home on Friday December 2, from 9am to 3pm
Funeral Cortege- The family will form the funeral Cortege on Saturday December 3, at 2:15 pm.at 853 North East 1st Street .
Celebration of Life - Will be held Saturday at Ind House of God 557 North East 2nd Avenue Crystal River Fl from 3pm to 5pm
