Jimmy L. Anderson, age 85, long time resident of Ridott, Illinois passed away May 22, 2024 in Spring Hill, Florida.
Jimmy was born on October 9th, 1938 to the late Robert and Marie Anderson in Freeport, Illinois. He enjoyed growing up in the Freeport community where he attended Freeport Senior High and was a member of The Salvation Army Band. On December 29th, 1962, he married the love of his life, Helen Larson at First Lutheran Church in Freeport, Illinois. They later moved to Ridott Illinois, where they raised their 4 children. Jimmy and his wife also opened their home to foster several children. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as sharing memories of his life growing up and the early years of his marriage. Jimmy worked for many years before retiring with Microswitch in Freeport, Illinois. He was also an active member of First Lutheran Church in Pecatonica, Illinois, for many years.
He is survived by 4 children: John (Stacy) Anderson, Linette (Daniel) Meinert, Eric (Stacy) Anderson and Rachel (Sam) Pulliam, 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen Anderson, his sister, 4 brothers and son-in-law, Daniel Meinert.
As per the request of his family, no public funeral service will be held.
