Celebration of Life for Brother Joseph Gary
Joseph Gary was born on November 1st 1940 to the late Luecinda Gary and Johnny Gary of Hurtsboro, Alabama. He resided in Alabama until he moved to Florida. At an early age he became dedicated and started his working career. After a couple of supporting jobs he decided to join the CSX railroad team where he was faithfully employed as a machine
operator for 37 years. At an early age Joseph Gary accepted Christ and became a member of St. Mark AME Church. He later decided to move his membership to First Baptist Church Shady Rest, where he faithfully supported the Church as a Trustee, a member of the Usher Board and later joining the First Baptist Shady Rest Senior Choir. As a lover of singing, he decided to form an all men group. They became loyalty singers and became the Hernando County Unity Male Chorus for many years. After the homegoing of many of the men, he wouldn’t stop there. He later formed a group with some of his family members and made it known that they could sing calling themselves Joseph Gary and the Shady Rest Gospel Singers. He rocked his favorite songs: You Can Look For Me, God Is Able and Don't Call The Role Till I Get There.
He was a stylist individual who loved to dress to impress, which caught the eyes of his loving wife Lisa Gary. To this union 2 children were born
