Katie Kurtz

Katie Darlene Kurtz, age 67, passed away

peacefully on Monday, January 6th

, 2025. 

Katie was born to Elton “Buddy” Smith and 

Ruby Louise Smith, on March 28th, 1957. 

She has spent the last 25 years of her life 

next to Chad Dyer. She raised 4 boys, David 

Kurtz, Steven Ray, Scott Kurtz, and Danny

Jon Kurtz. She was also a loving 

grandmother, sister, aunt and friends to 

many. Before she retired she worked at 

Macy’s as the logistics manager in the 

warehouse. She was a free spirited person 

and loved anyone who crossed paths with 

her, kind and giving. Katie was also a fellow 

believer in Christ, as she fully trusted in Him 

to bring her home to Him. With that being 

said Katie is right where she wants to be 

with many loved ones and friends who have 

gone before us.
