Kenneth Ray White or "Ken" as he was known by his family and friends in Greater Little Rock, Arkansas passed away at the age of 67 in Citrus County, Florida on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 following a brief illness and hospitalization. Born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 26, 1952, Kenneth was a bright, talented and creative person who was often seen drawing and painting works of art. He graduated from the historical Central High School in Little Rock after the school was integrated following a Federal Court order. Kenneth was President of his senior class at Central.
Kenneth worked in a paint store for most of his career while also serving as a caretaker for his maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Juanita Persons who passed away in 2003.After his grandmother's death Kenneth left Little Rock for Florida to assist with the care of his step father's mother and to be near his mother Mrs. Shirley James, step father Mr. Bernard James and family. After arriving in Florida, he attended Greater Dimensions Christian Assembly in Dunnellon for a period of time with his mother and step father. Throughout Kenneth's life, he was known as a person who seriously considered the needs and lives of others, especially those in his extended family. Not a birthday or Christmas went by when those who loved him did not receive gifts , cards and telephone calls from Kenneth.
Kenneth's late father ,J.D. White preceded him in death and Kenneth is survived by his mother, Mrs. Shirley James and step father Mr. Bernard James of Dunnellon, Florida; three sisters, Stephanie James of Ocala, Florida, Vanda Stanley of 29 Palms, California, Wendy Ellis of Gainesville, Florida; two aunts, Marva Benjamin (Michael) of Washington, DC and Mildred Stewart of Little Rock, Arkansas; two uncles, Gerald Persons (Frances) of Cerritos, California; Gary Persons (La Vera) of Bryant, Arkansas; two nieces, Sydney Kartu of Gainesville, Florida and Jordan Stanley of 29 Palms, California; and numerous other relatives from across the nation to mourn his death.
