Lawrence Emanuel Smith,
A reflection of his life
On Thursday, September 10, 2020, Lawrence Emanuel Smith surrendered to the call of our Heavenly Father and took his flight to Join his loved ones in eternal rest and peace.
Lawrence was born at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fl on August19, 1957 to the union of Emanuel Smith, Jr and Alease Mckinnon Smith.
Lawrence, who many knew him affectionately as “Bear” grew up and spent the most part of his life in Crystal River, where he attended the Citrus County School system, and he received his G.E.D from Job Corps USA.
Lawrence later Married Cynthia, his wife of 24 years who preceded him in death; and to this union two children were born, Glena and Shontiea. Lawrence was a skilled and resourceful handyman, there was no job to big or small that he wouldn't undertake. He always wanted to do everything in a hurry, but he was always available to help.
Some of his places of employment was, The Plantation Inn, Gilman’s Cabinet Shop, Prestige Cabinet Shop, and other places where his Carpentry skills were useful. Lawrence loved to fish, even though he didn’t eat them, he would catch them and give them to individuals he knew would enjoy them; that’s just how he was.
On August 19, 2017 on his Birthday, Lawrence Married Joyce Orr his present wife of 3 years and companion of 15 years who he leaves to cherish their memories.
Lawrence was the epitome of the word “LOVE”. He loved his family and he loved his friends; and he just didn’t say it, but he demonstrated it every day. He never met a stranger, he had two categories that he put you in, you were either baby or Cuz. He never failed to call, just to say I love you… That was Lawrence “Bear” Smith.
He is also preceded in death by his Father, Emanuel Smith, Jr. and his eldest Sister Diane Wick.
Lawrence is survived by His Mother: Alease M. Smith of Crystal River; His Children: Glenda Smith and Shontiea Alexander (Coy) of Orlando, Fl; Siblings: Two Brothers: Kevin M. Smith (Annette) of Jacksonville, Fl; Bishop Leonard T. Smith of Crystal River, Fl; Four Sisters: Yvette L. Willis of Brooksville Fl; Arvette L. Smith of Bay Town, Tx; Katryna L.
