Autobiography of Queen Mable Lee
Holloway
“What is the Dash?”
The Dash represents all of her accomplishments. She attended an all Black “Melanated School
in Hernando County from “the first grade through the twelfth grade” at Moton
High School in Brooksville, Florida.
After graduating from
High School in 1963, she moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida to further her
education in cosmetology along with that she got her CNA license as a certified
nurse assistant, she work vary job's in that field from 1972-1978.
After moving back to Brooksville Florida, a
small rural county community called Twin Lakes Florida in the summer of 1978. While getting settled in, she started as
a volunteer parent at Head Start. Soon
she was promoted to teacher aide/bus driver from there she became a Head Start
Teacher. Mable wore many titles throughout
her life such as a teacher in Sumter County, AA/AS at PHCC. Mable personality was a great benefit to the
parents and staff.
After leaving (Head Start), she continued, her family's long rich
legacy, in History/ Cultural, including display presentation that is her
'generation's of art's, books, pictures and other items like many of her
memorabilia she also portray the character of Aunt Lizzie Washington at
Chinsegut Hill, north of Hernando Co. for many years, also " History on
Wheels " by going to many elementary, middle, high school, throughout the
county.
She leaves a legacy of
