Late Deacon Mark Anthony Drake
Mark was born November 12, 1959 to Mr. Samuel Edwards Jr. and the late Mary Drake. Born and raised in Brooksville, Florida, he graduated from Hernando High School, Class of 1978. Several months after graduating, Mark joined and served honorably as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army for approximately three years.
After transitioning from the military, he was hired by the Hernando County School Maintenance Department and later elevated to Crew Chief. He worked in the Maintenance Department for over twenty years.
Mark had a compassionate and loving heart for everyone, especially the youths in the community.He spent numerous hours for many years in lobbing for funds in order to help youth receive jobs during the summer.
Mark loved the Lord and that love was showed in the compassion for others. He enjoyed serving the Lord with all his might, body, and soul. One of his favorite things to do was studying the bible and sharing the good news with others. He lovedthe Queen of his life, the late Loretta Bailey-Drake, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother; Mary Drake, (2) Sisters-in-law; Annette Jackson, and Linda Edwards, (2) Brothers-in-law; Willie Jackson Sr. and Pastor Augustus Jackson, (1) Father-in-law; Isaac Bailey Sr. and (1) Mother-in-law;Johnnie Mae Bailey.
Mark leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and precious memories to his beloved (2) Sons;Anthony L. Bailey Sr. (Juana), Ja'Corey E. Drake,(1) Daughter; Patrice A. Drake, all of Brooksville, FL; (1) Step-mother; Annie, of Ocala, FL, (7)Sisters; Patricia Bordrick (Derwin) of New Port Richey, FL, Pamela Williams of Zephyrhills, FL,Tonya Harris of San Antonio, TX, Serena (Jimmy),Araujo of Hempsted, NY, Sylvia Smith (Tracy), Sonja Wooten (Michael) both of Montgomery, AL,Lealer Mason, Edward Stanley, both of Brooksville, FL, and Cindy Jackson of Conyers, GA, (6) Brothers; Sammie Edwards, CA, GarvinEdwards (Robbin) of Ocala, FL, Vernon Edwards of Ft.
