A TIME TO BE BORN
Rachel was born August 11, 1958, in Hernando, Florida, to Alberta Wright Couch and Charlie Leggett. She was reared in Hernando by Alberta Wright Couch and Walter Couch. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Wright Couch; father, Charlie Leggett; stepfather, Walter Couch; brothers, Gregory Wright and Walter Couch, Jr.; daughter, Mary Leggett; and grandson, Ashtyn Leggett.
A TIME TO LEARN
Rachel graduated from Citrus High School in Inverness, FL, in 1976. She attended Central Florida Community College and obtained her Associate’s degree.
A TIME TO WORK
Rachel began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. After several years, she transitioned to a bookkeeper and culminated her career as an Admissions Director at several skilled nursing facilities, including Evergreen Woods and Lady Lake Specialty Care.
A TIME TO SERVE
Sister Rachel Leggett was a faithful member of Hernando Church of the Living God. She served as the church financial secretary for 18 years. She served diligently for the Florida Gold Coast Diocese of the House of God, Which is the Church of the Living God, the Pillar & Ground of the Truth, Inc. She enjoyed traveling to various local, state, and national church conventions.
LEGACY
Rachel leaves to cherish her memories one son, Rodney Vickers; three daughters, Angela Williams, Martha Leggett, and Crystal Leggett; and grandchildren, Justin Leggett, Lauryn Leggett, and Craig Williams. She also leaves one brother, Ronald Derrick Wright; three sisters, Carlette Wright-Barfield (Patrick), Sheri Wright, and Lonnie Couch; nephews, Ryan Couch, Gregory Smith, Jermaine White, Malachi Wright, and Noah Wright; niece, Shelia Wright; special nieces and nephew, Caitlyn McAboy, Christian McAboy, and Carly McAboy; special cousin, Lucile Smith; and special friends, Mary Alice Cason, Gail Bellamy, Richard Brady, Gail Dyer, Gwen Hill, Larry Cantrell, Margaret Henry, Tanya Houston, April Williams, Jerry and Victoria Vickers, and a host of grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
