Ronald Errol Brown (“Ronnie”) was the son of the late Essie Curry and Alfred Brown, Sr. He was born January 28, 1937 in Brooksville Florida. He departed this life at the age of 87, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 12:23 p.m. at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inverness, Florida.
As a youngster, Ronnie attended Church at Mt. Zion AME Church on Mondon Hill in Brooksville, FL. He graduated from Moton High School where he was a good student and played on the football team. Ronnie was a hard worker and was employed at Florida Rock Industries where he handled heavy equipment and at G.O. Parrot Grassing Company, among others.
Ronnie had a strong affection for animals, often caring for pets such as dogs, cats, and raising chickens. Despite never obtaining a driver’s license, Ronnie was known for riding his bicycle around Brooksville. His vibrant personality and quick wit made him the life of the party, and he was known for sharing endless jokes, including his favorite phrase, "Hanky Panky Bobby Lanky, Ask me again and I'll tell you the same." Ronnie’s quiet gentle but lively spirit and infectious sense of humor made him unforgettable, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him. His memory will continue to bring smiles to the hearts of his loved ones.
Ronnie leaves to cherish in memory a legacy of one child, Essie Louise Carter of Brooksville, FL and 3 grandchildren; Clevon McGee of Spring Hill, FL, Wilana Frazier and John Frazier of Brooksville, FL. 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His grandson, Willie Frazier, Jr. preceded him in death.
Siblings; Sister, Christine Clark of Sarasota, FL, Stepbrother, Andrew Williams, Jr. (Annie) of Spring Hill, FL and Stepsister, Cynthia Williams of Spring Hill, FL. 4 brothers preceded him in death; Alfred ("Baby") Brown, Jr. of Evansville, IN, Timothy Brown of Brooksville, FL, Charles Brown and Darrell Brown of St. Petersburg, FL.
Ronnie is survived by his Sister-in-law, Frances (Alfred) Brown of Evansville, IN and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Special mention is made of his niece, Kamala Brown-Hunter (Lance) of Atlanta, GA, and his Great-nephew, Miles Hunter of Atlanta, GA. Additionally, his special caregiver, Marnisha Langley of Brooksville, FL, is acknowledged for her care. These family members played important roles in Ronnie's life and are part of his legacy.
