Obituary
Shirley Bunch Warren, was born on October 7, 1939, to the late Elijah and Christener Bunch in
Crystal River, FL. She was the oldest of six children. She was educated in the Citrus County
school system; attending elementary school at George Washington Carver School in Crystal
River FL, and graduated High School from Booker T. Washington in Inverness FL.
Shirley worked at several local restaurants Crystal Lodge and Oysters later embarking on a 38
year career with the Citrus County School System. Shirley started as a Secretary at George
Washington Carver Elementary, then as a Teacher’s Aid and Data Secretary at Crystal River
Primary.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt, Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 1960
where she remained an active member until her demise. During her tenure, she was an active
member serving in numerous positions: Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School Junior Class teacher, Chairperson of Finance Committee, President of the Usher Board, President of the
Home Mission, and Youth Departments.
Shirley dedicated her life to helping others. Being the oldest child, she was instrumental in raising her younger siblings. She was the most generous and loving person you ever wanted to meet. Always had time and love to share. She was most proud of the many young lives she touched during her many years of being a Foster Mother; over 200 children came through her home; some only days and others for years.
She was preceded in death by her father Elijah Bunch, mother, Christener Skylark, Brother, Earl
Bunch, son, Raymond Lanard Warren, she leaves to cherish her loving memories surrogate mother, Carol Bergman, two sisters, Minnie Bajomo, Groton CT; Coressa Natteal, Crystal River FL; two brothers Dennis Johnson, Tampa FL; Charles Reed., Miami FL; and a host of loving family and friends.

Celebration of Life - Saturday August 12, 2023 at 11am at The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Crystal River Fl.
