Obituary: Viola Lorraine Flowers
Flowers, Viola Lorraine, 60, of Hernando, FL, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital in Inverness, FL.
Viola, affectionately called "Lorraine," was born on September 19, 1965, in Inverness, to the union of Albert Strange and Jacqueline Houston Strange. Viola was reared in a loving home and community, attending the local public schools of Citrus County, including Citrus High School. She was loved dearly by her classmates and friends.
During her youth, she accepted Christ as her personal savior while attending Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Hernando, FL. During her adult years, she worked several jobs, always giving her best effort. Viola was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to mourn her passing: two sons, James Brown Davis III (Sarah) of Eielson AFB, Alaska, and Benjamin Reshard Gardner of Citrus Springs; two granddaughters, Aniyah Davis and Lilyth Nephew; one devoted sister, Min. Sandra Faye Maxwell of Hernando, FL; four brothers, Albert Todd Strange and Mathis Strange, both of Hernando, FL, Wilfred Lyndon Strange of Riverview, FL, and Henry Strange Sr. of Archer, FL; one aunt, Sarah Houston of Hernando, FL; one uncle, Dr. David Houston (Jackie) of Inverness, FL; her special son, Jonathan Maxwell of Hernando, FL; a special sister, Sharon Bostic of California; her special godson, Jarrod A. Campbell of Hernando; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she considered her family.
Services:
Flower Delivery: Flowers may be received on Wednesday, April 22, at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, April 23, starting at 9:00 AM.
Visitation: Thursday, April 23, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
Celebration of Life: Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
